Ottawa firefighters safely extricated a driver from a flipped vehicle following a collision in Kanata Saturday evening.
OFS says it received a call from partners at the Ottawa Police Service around 5:24 p.m. requesting a response to the intersection of March Road and Halton Terrace for a collision.
Once on scene, firefighters confirmed there was a two-vehicle collision which left one vehicle on its side. The lone occupant, the driver, was trapped inside.
Firefighters stabilized the vehicle and pulled a precautionary hose line before beginning the extrication process. Firefighters placed a tarp over the driver to protect them from glass before cutting the windshield to remove the driver from the vehicle.
Ottawa Paramedics say a 29-year-old woman was transported to hospital in stable condition.
There were two occupants in the second vehicle at the time of the collision but both were able to exit the vehicle safely.
Firefighters disconnected the batteries to both vehicles and spread absorbent on the leaking fluid before clearing the scene.
